Ceiling fan installation in Charlotte, NC

Starting at $185 — a starting point, not a final estimate

Fan wobble usually comes from the box rather than the fan itself. Before anything is hung we confirm the ceiling box is fan-rated and secure, then assemble, mount, balance and run the fan through every speed and the reverse switch.

Mon–Fri 7:30am–7:00pm · Sat 9:00am–5:00pm · Sun 10:00am–3:00pm · General liability insured

What this typically includes

  • Removing the old fan or light fixture
  • Confirming the existing box is fan-rated and properly braced
  • Full fan assembly, mounting and blade balancing
  • Downrod or flush mount setup, remote or wall-control pairing, full speed test

What can affect the final price

  • Ceiling height, vaulted ceilings and downrod length
  • Whether the existing box needs upgrading to a fan-rated brace
  • Fan weight and whether a second person is needed
  • Remote, wall control or smart-fan pairing

What photos to send

  • The full area including ceiling height or wall context
  • The existing fixture, fan, outlet, or device from a safe standing distance
  • The replacement item and its model label
  • The breaker panel label only if it's easy and safe to reach
  • Include a photo showing ceiling height (stand back) and the existing mount from below.
  • Include a photo showing ceiling height from a few steps back and the existing mount from directly below

Never remove covers or plates, expose wiring, or touch anything energized. Photos from a safe distance are plenty.

How pricing works

Starting at $185 for this task on its own. We price standard jobs by the task, with a $149 minimum service visit. Add more standard tasks and their starting prices are totalled up; you get the final number in writing before work begins. See more in Small electrical.

All prices are starting points. Scope, materials, specialty hardware, access, wall type, travel and parking, disposal, permits, and regulated-trade requirements may affect the final price. You'll always get the number before we start.

Questions about this service

Do I need a special ceiling box?
Yes — fans must hang from a fan-rated box or brace. If yours isn't, we'll tell you before installing; a standard light box is not safe to hang a fan from.
Can you replace a light with a fan where there's no fan wiring?
If it's a straight swap onto existing wiring with a fan-rated box, yes. Running new wiring or adding a separate fan switch is licensed electrical work.
Why does my current fan wobble?
Usually an unbraced box, a bent blade bracket, or blades that were never balanced. We check all three.
